Dear Tina, dear Charlie,
Thank you for your email.
I am still in the process of sorting out the many pictures i took from this trip through Guilin.
It was indeed a fantastic trip and this is due to the high level of professionnalism shown by Charlie (who was always open to pre-trip suggestions) and Sandy who made sure we were able to see the sights the best way and enjoy the tour without any problems. The driver was also very good and helpful in all the ways he could.
David and I are greatly satisfied, and are especially glad that bookings were made in those 2 hotels :
Ping An Inn in the middle of the rice terraces, and Magnolia hotel with the fantastic Loft Art Deco atmosphere.
Those 2 were absolutely top in term of setting. The breakfast in the nearby cafe in Magnolia Hotel was also a nice touch.
Talking about breakfast, i would say it was the only minor negative point of the 4 days. We were often let down by breakfasts as it was way too "heavy" for an early morning lunch...maybe because in France breakfast are usually light and mainly sweet (coffe-milk-toast-jams-fruits..).
It's too unusual for us to eat big noodles in the morning (even though i understand it's a tradition in this region of China).
Also in Eva Inn, we were told that only one breakfast was included , even though we were 2 in the room...David did not like the food there anyway.
Other than breakfast, food in restaurants was ranging from good to very good..so no disapontment there !
As for sightseeing, everything was excellent and the highlits of the tour was Xiangonghan Hill and the rice terraces in Longji.
Thank you for the great organisation, i will tell my friends willing to visit Guilin about your company.
best regards.
