Tour Itinerary
Day 1Arrival at Guilin (L, D)
Take a flight from Xiamen to Guilin. Meet your guide at Guilin Airport and transfer to your hotel. Then drive to visit the highlights in Guilin – Reed Flute Cave, Yao Mountain and West Hill. Reed Flute Cave is a brilliant cave marked on almost all travel itineraries. Yao Mountain is the highest hill (903.3 meters above sea level) in Guilin. It offers very different views in each season. You can easily get to the top of it by the 1,416 meters long cable car and get a wonderful view of the peaks and surrounds. West Hill is one of the most famous hills in Guilin. But it is always non-touristy and not like the other crowded scenic spots in the town. Lunch is in a good local restaurant where you will have a good chance to try Guilin cuisine. Return to your hotel in late afternoon. After fresh up, have dinner in a local restaurant and then walk along the lakes to enjoy the colorful city.

Day 2Li River Cruise down to Yangshuo (B, L, D)
Check out your hotel and meet your guide in the hotel lobby in the morning. Then drive to Zhujiang Pier for a 4-hour' cruise on Li River - the highlight of your Guilin tour with lunch aboard. You will enjoy the beautiful mountains, verdant fields, farms and villages with water buffalos, cows wondering around on both sides of the river bank. Get off at Yangshuo - famous for its spectacular and picturesque countryside. Then check in your Yangshuo hotel and enjoy your free time until dinner. In the evening, enjoy the fantastic light show of Impression Sanjie Liu – directed by the famous movie director Zhang Yimo who is the same director for the Opening Ceremony of 2008 Olympics.

Day 3Yangshuo (B, L, D)
Meet your guide in the morning and drive to your walking start point in the countryside. Start today’s trekking. Today you have the chance to escape from the crowd, hike in a non-touristy area and enjoy the picturesque and peaceful rural life. The scenery along the trekking route is stunning. You will see the beautiful mountains, farms and villages with water buffalos, cows wondering along the whole way. Have late lunch in a village. Then meet your driver there and drive back to your hotel.

Day 4Yangshuo to Longji (B, L, D)
After breakfast, drive to Longji and have an excursion there for the Rice Terraces and ethnic minority culture. The terraced field there is a fascinating scenic spot for tourist. You also have a chance to go close to two minority groups—Zhuang and Yao nationality and enjoy their colorful tradition and custom. You need to walk up 40 minutes from the parking lot to the viewing point on the top. And the 45 minutes trekking from one viewing point to another is easy due to the flat trekking path without ups or downs. During the trekking, great view of the rice terraces can be seen along the whole way. Then walk down 30 minutes back to the village and stay one night.

Day 5Longji to Dazhai to Longji (B, L, D)
Today’s trekking from Longji to Dazhai needs more energy. You need 4-5 hours to cover this 18-20 kilometers long trekking path which has some ups and downs. This is a flagstone path shared by local farmers and buffalo. The 4-5 hours hiking allows you to have a better understanding of these mountain tribes and their real life. Then drive back to Longji and walk up to you hotel in the afternoon.

Day 6Longji to Guilin Departure (B)
After breakfast, transfer to Guilin Airport for departure.

1. For this tour, comfortable walking shoes are needed. And the sightseeing time arrangement on the 1st and 6th day would be adjusted according to your flight arrival and departure time.
2. The trekking path in Yangshuo is always flat and the terrain doesn’t have any ups or downs. It usually takes 4 to 5 hours for this trekking. The trekking time in Longji is around 2 hours. 40-50 minutes up to one viewing point from the parking lot, the ascent is about 250 meters. 40-50 minutes level walks another viewing point. And 30 minutes down to the village.
