7-day Guilin to Guizhou Tour

Day 1Arrival of Guilin

Upon your arrival in Guilin, meet your guide at Guilin airport or Train Station and transfer to your hotel in Yangshuo. Free for rest of the day.

Day 2Yangshuo (B, L)

This is the day to explore this beautiful place – Yangshuo. Biking to the countryside with your guide for its breathtaking scenery and Chinese agriculture. Visit the Moon Hill. You can get a wonderful view of the Yangshuo valley, the peaks and surrounds from the summit. Have the bamaoo rafting in Yulong River in the afternoon and enjoy the picturesque limestone peaks along this peaceful river. Then back to your hotel in Yangshuo and enjoy your free time.

Day 3Guilin / Longji / Sanjiang (B, L, D)

Drive 3 hours to Longji and have a full day excursion there for the Rice Terraces and ethnic minority culture. Visit Longji Terraced Fields, villages of Zhuang and Yao People. Then drive 1.5 hours to Sanjiang in the afternoon. Stay overnight in Sanjiang.

Longsheng Terraced Fields: They were first built in the Yuan dynasty and completed in the Qing dynasty by Zhuang people. The terraced fields are built along the slope winding from the riverside up to the mountaintop, with the highest place of an elevation of 885m and the lowest 380m.

Day 4Sanjiang/ Zhaoxing (B, L, D)

Visit the Drum Tower and the Shelter Bridge of Dong people and the Dong village there. Dong people are well-known for their architecture, particularly their drum towers, and wind & rain bridges (the Shelter Bridge), which are wooden covered bridges for sheltering people during bad weather. Then drive to Guizhou Zhaoxing after lunch. Stay tonight in Zhaoxing.

Day 5Zhaoxing / Rongjiang (B, L, D)

Visit one of the largest Dong villages in the region, with more than 700 households and a population of 4000. The Dong can be easily recognized by their turbans (for men), and pleated skirts (for women). Enjoy the famous "Grand Song" performance of Dong. The Grand Song which is characteristic in multi-vocal parts, non-conduct and non-obbligato has beautiful sound and tune. It is the world's non-material culture heritage. Then drive 2 hours to Rongjiang.

Have a visit to Basha, a small Miao village with very little signs of modern influence. The local Miao people who are in their traditional costumes rarely venture out of the village except for selling firewood, crops and buying for daily necessities in markets. Stay overnight in Rongjiang.

Day 6Rongjiang / Kaili (B, L, D)

On the way to Kaili, stop to visit Shui people and two other Miao villages where you can explore Miao's traditional wooden houses, waterwheels, the aquatic granary and the Miao women's 'Mini skirt'. Stay overnight in Kaili.

Day 7Kaili / Guiyang Departure (B, L)

Drive to Guiyang and leave for the airport.
